The Quiet Shape of Water

The Quiet Shape of Water

Water has always held a quiet significance for me — whether I’ve been sailing, plunging beneath waves while scuba diving, or tracing its path through the Cascade Mountain Range.

This new piece takes you on a journey through some of the hidden details I love noticing. It is from the rivers and lakes near where I live, with a brief stop at a surprise location elsewhere in the western U.S.

I’ve chosen to publish this newsletter and blog post in PDF form. That format allows for a slower, more intentional experience — though it does mean you’ll need to click a link to download it, and perhaps one more to open it.

Inside, the work moves in four quiet steps: from water as landscape, to abstraction, to teacher — and finally, to a kind of return.

A full circle, drawn in reflection.

I hope you decide to download and take it in.

I made this for someone who finds water beautiful and mesmerizing — and I have a feeling that describes you.
